Hugo is a highly experienced Private Client Solicitor and Partner, specialising in Wills, Estate Planning, Probate, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney. He advises individuals, families, business owners and executors on a wide range of succession and estate planning matters, with particular expertise in the administration of complex and high-value estates.
After graduating from Newcastle University with a First Class Honours degree in History, Hugo completed his legal studies at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He trained with MWW in Holborn before becoming a Partner at David Tagg Solicitors. He subsequently served as a Partner at Spencer West and as Associate Director at Hine Solicitors in Oxford before joining the firm as a Partner.
Hugo is an Associate Member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and holds STEP Advanced Certificates in the Administration of Estates and the Preparation of Wills, qualifications recognised as the gold standard within the private client profession
Known for his approachable manner and pragmatic advice, Hugo is committed to making complex legal issues clear and straightforward. He works closely with clients to protect their wealth, preserve family relationships and ensure their wishes are carried out efficiently and effectively. Whether preparing a simple Will, advising on Inheritance Tax planning or administering a complex estate, Hugo focuses on delivering practical, commercially minded solutions with the highest standards of client care.
Hugo also currently sits on the Cancer Research UK Solicitors Insight Panel.
Outside the office, Hugo enjoys playing the piano and guitar, travelling, reading, skiing and cricket.
